Hood's Eric Diehl Named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College senior Eric Diehl (Gaithersburg, Md. / Damascus) was named the Commonwealth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after leading the Blazers to a pair of wins last week.
Diehl capped the week off with a dramatic goal in the 103rd minute on Homecoming against Arcadia to give Hood the 2-1 win. Earlier in the week, he had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 victory at Marymount (Va.).
The senior is the first Blazer men's soccer player to earn player of the week since Hood joined the Commonwealth Conference. Diehl earned the honor as a sophomore in 2011 when the Blazers competed in the Capital Athletic Conference.
Hood hosts the defending NCAA Division III Champions from Messiah College on Tuesday, October 8.
