Albion, Adrian Play To Draw

More news about: Albion men's team

ADRIAN, Mich. – Albion College got a goal from Andrew Byrne in the first half and Kyle Alsheshie ripped three shots early in the second half, but it was unable to produce a second goal that would have led to a victory over Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer match Wednesday night.

Instead, Ambrose DiGiovanni pounced on a rebound for the equalizer 10 minutes into the second half and the teams played to a 1-1 draw.

Byrne got his head on a throw in for his second goal of the season.

Adrian finished with a 13-9 lead in shots and it had twice as many shots on goal (6-3). Andrew Prince and Bobby Budlong had shots saved by Adrian goalkeeper Niko Giantsopoulous. Albion goalkeeper Andrew Bobowski collected five saves.

Albion will challenge Calvin College at 2:30 p.m. Saturday as the Britons celebrate Homecoming.
