Warhawks Win Third Straight

The UW-Whitewater men's soccer team topped Illinois Wesleyan 1-0 Wednesday night in Bloomington, Illinois.  This is the third straight win for UW-W and their sixth shutout of the season as they improve to 11-2-0.  The Titans fall to 7-5-1.

John Gottwald scored his fourth game winning goal of the season Wednesday night.  Gottwald received a pass from Michael Montanye and drove it into the net in the 49th minute for the only goal of the game.  Gottwald leads the team in goals (5) and points (12) this season.

Josh Rohde played the entire game in goal for UW-W and made five saves to record his fifth shutout of the season.

Nine of UW-W's 13 games this season have been decided by one goal.  The Warhawks have only come out on the wrong end of those games one time.

Saturday the Warhawks will host Lake Forest in a 3 pm match at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.
