Mustangs shock Chargers on senior night, 3-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – In a series that has historically ended in draws, the Morrisville State College men's soccer team posted a 3-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over Lancaster Bible today on Drake Field.
Mustangs opened up the scoring in the 12th minute of the match when junior forward Chernor Barrie (Bronx, N.Y.) made an impressive play through multiple Charger defenders to net the Mustangs first goal.
Morrisville State added another goal in the 35th minute of action when Joe Sheehan (Liverpool, N.Y.) smoked a ball on a break away to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead going into half.
The Mustangs added another goal in the early minutes of the second half when Jesse Astudillo (Wheeling, Ill.) crossed a perfect ball to Jacob Chase (Cooperstown, N.Y.) for a third and final goal.
Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) logged the shutout victory over the Chargers, improving to 7-4-2 overall, 4-1-1 in the NEAC, as the win gave the Mustangs a berth in NEAC playoff.
The loss is recorded to Lancaster's Andrew Kofstad, who made eight saves on the day.
Morrisville State College travels to SUNY Canton on October 23 at 7:00 PM.
