Baruch Shutouts CCNY (1-0) to Stay in 1st Place, Stretch CUNYAC Undefeated Streak to 17
The Baruch College Bearcats stayed in first place in the CUNYAC standings and stretched their undefeated conference streak to 17 following a 1-0 road victory over CCNY on Saturday morning at Randall's Island Field #91.
The visiting Bearcats (7-5, 6-0 CUNYAC, 18pts) dominated possession by out-shooting the Beavers, 28-10, which included two missed penalty kicks and one shot that hit the post.
Despite the many opportunities, the Bearcats were finally able to get on the scoreboard with 10 minutes left as Kyle Keaguescored the lone goal on a cross by Danny Goldbergfor the victory against the Beavers (6-8-1, 5-2, 15 pts).
Keague finished with a match-high four shots attempted, while Christopher Galluzzo, Edward Humphreysand Kevin Romerohad three shots each.
Goalkeeper Kevin Romero recorded the shutout with three saves.
Baruch will return to action on Wednesday, October 23, with a CUNYAC road contest at rival Hunter College. Kick off at Randall's Island Field #10 is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
