Baruch Blanks Rival Hunter (6-0), CUNYAC Undefeated Streak Reaches 18

The men's soccer team extended their winning streak to seven by defeating rival Hunter College Hawks, 6-0, in a CUNYAC contest played on Wednesday evening at Randall's Island Field #10.

The Bearcats controlled the action from start to finish to also stretch their undefeated CUNYAC streak to 18 in a row, while improving their season record to 7-5 overall and 7-0 (21 pts) in the conference standings.


Edward Humphreysstarted the scoring shortly after kick-off with his fourth goal of the season.

Kevin Romeroscored twice to increase his season tally to four, while Robert Kawasakinetted his first via a penalty kick.

Christopher Galluzzoscored on a defensive miscue from a long distance free kick. Armando Aguilarscored his first goal of the season to round off the 6-0 defeat against the rival Hawks.

The Bearcats won the shooting battle with a 21-10 advantage.
Helder Correiaearned the shutout with seven saves.

The men's soccer team will finish their regular season schedule on Saturday, October 26, with a 3:30 pm CUNYAC contest against York College scheduled at Randall's Island Field #50.

The Bearcats were initially scheduled to play a road match versus York on October 2, but the match was postponed due to the government shutdown that affected Aviator Field in Brooklyn.

In other news, the team is confirmed to host a CUNYAC quarterfinal playoff home match on Wednesday, October 30, at 4:30pm at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.  The entire tournament schedule will be confirmed and released by the conference office in the near future.
