Saints Extend Winning Streak to 10 With a 1-0 Win at Thiel
(GREENVILLE, Pa.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team extended its winning streak to a school record tying 10 matches today (Saturday, October 26, 2013) as it defeated Thiel College, 1-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
With the win, the Saints improve to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 5-12 overall and 0-7 in the PAC.
Junior midfielder Jake Plummer (North Olmsted, Ohio/Hearts of Jesus Christ-Corpus Christi) scored the lone goal at the 80:24 mark on a penalty kick.
Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes in goal to earn the shutout win.
Thomas More out-shot Thiel, 17-1, including 9-0 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 9-0.
The Saints close out the home portion of their regular season schedule on Wednesday (October 30) when they host Westminster College at 1:30 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
