Saints Clinch Third Straight PAC Regular Season With a 2-1 Overtime Win Over Westminster

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team clinched its third straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) regular season title today (Wednesday, October 30, 2013) as it defeated Westminster College, 2-1, in overtime at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 14-2 overall and 7-0 in the PAC and set a school record with their 11th straight win. With the loss, the Titans fall to 7-9-3 overall and 2-3-3 in the PAC.

Thomas More took an early 1-0 lead when sophomore forward Austin Juniet (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) scored unassisted at the 8:35 mark. Westminster tied the match at 1-1 when Austin Ewers made a penalty kick at 35:11.

Juniet scored the Saints' game-winning goal with 4:12 to play in the first overtime time period off an assist from junior forward Kyle Troutman (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield).

Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 95:48 in goal and allowed one goal, while recording one save.

Thomas More out-shot Westminster, 27-3, including 8-2 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 15-0.

The Saints close out the regular season on Saturday (November 1) when they travel to Grove City, Pennsylvania to play Grove City College at 2:30 p.m.
