Thomas More and Grove City Play to a 1-1 Draw

(GROVE CITY, Pa.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team tied Grove City College, 1-1, in double overtime today (Saturday, November 2, 2013) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at College Field in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

With the tie, the Saints finish the regular season at 14-2-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the PAC and will be the No. 1 seed in next week's PAC Tournament, while Grove City finishes the regular season at 8-5-5 overall and 4-1-3 in the PAC. Semifinal matches of the tournament are scheduled for Wednesday (November 6) at the higher seeds. The tournament brackets will be released late tonight or early tomorrow morning on the PAC website at www.pacathletics.org.

Thomas More took a 1-0 lead at the 23:07 mark when freshman forward Brian Runyon (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) scored unassisted.

Grove City's Dale Reese scored the equalizer at the 81:51.

Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 110 minutes in goal and allowed one goal, while recording five saves.

Thomas More out-shot Grove City, 32-16, including 19-6 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 4-3.
