Oxy Men's Soccer's Brandford Named All-SCIAC
PASADENA — Marcus Brandford was named Second Team All-SCIAC on Tuesday, following a standout year with the Occidental College men's soccer team.
Brandford, a senior forward, ranked 10th in the SCIAC with five goals. He had a goal against Redlands, La Verne and Pomona-Pitzer, and two against Caltech.
Overall, he scored six goals and had one assist in 18 games.
"It just shows that Marcus has been one of the best players in this conference his entire career," Oxy coach Rod Lafaurie said. "I think being recognized by the SCIAC coaches again, especially given that the results didn't exactly pan out for us the way we expected, is a tribute and a testament to just how good Marcus is."
Brandford was a Second Team All-SCIAC selection during his sophomore year in 2011.
