DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College Men's soccer team spent their Thanksgiving together in Dubuque while preparing for their fourth appearance in the Final Four. While in town, the team helped the Ginter Family and their efforts at the Knights of Columbus soup kitchen where they once again put on a very generous act of courtesy by cooking meals for families that are less fortunate.

The men helped load up and empty a full moving van with pots, pans, extra food, and many other products needed for the big meal. Standing in the cold weather, the team would bring laughter and joy not only to themselves, but to the Gitner family as well. Using their mass numbers, the team was able to make a job that would take hours to complete into a rather simple job. The team is well aware of how their support is not limited to just the college, but to the entire community.

"I can think of no better way to spend Thanksgiving than with our team and giving back to the community," Head Coach Dan Rothert said. "The Ginter family has put on a free thanksgiving meal to the Dubuque community for years. It only makes sense that our team helps out since we are here and have the time and manpower to help. I'm proud of our guys and they have fun doing it."

The Duhawks have five more days of training ahead of them before they depart for the Final Four. Once in San Antonio, they will practice on Wednesday and Thursday before playing in the national semifinal match on Friday at 5 p.m. against Rutgers-Camden University.
