Fred Willard named CCC Offensive Player of the Week

More news about: Nichols men's team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Nichols College senior Fred Willard (Webster, Mass.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Week.

Willard scored three of the Bison's six goals as NC went 2-0 in conference action last week. Willard scored the second goal of the game in the 34th minute to secure a 2-0 victory over Endicott. The senior went on to net two goals in a 4-2 win over Eastern Nazarene and now has 13 points (4-5-13) in 15 matches this season.

"Fred is one of those kids that will not rest until the last whistle," said head coach Chris Traina. "I see a momentum change in his personality, and I know he will be a handful for anyone to face."

Willard is the third Bison to be recognized this year by the CCC. Junior Jeremy Nash (West Springfield, Mass.) was named Defensive Player of the Week in mid-September and senior Scott Palmerino (Southbridge, Mass.) was named Offensive Player of the Week earlier this month.

The Bison (11-1-4, 6-1-1 CCC) return to action Tuesday afternoon when they travel to play Curry at 4 p.m.
