Gaumond Honored by National Soccer Coaches Association of America

More news about: Nichols men's team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Nichols College senior Pat Gaumond (Holden, Mass.) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Region South Second Team.

Gamound played more of a defensive midfield for the Bison this year. He racked up seven points (3-1-7) in 18 matches – including a pair of goals in a win against Salem State in early October.

"I am pleased that the college coaches throughout New England recognized what I already knew about Pat," said Nichols men's soccer head coach Chris Traina.  "He was one of the key players responsible for our incredible success over the past four years. He became a 'marked man' once he became the 2010 CCC Rookie of the Year. He took the role in midfield with passion and intensity, and I am very proud of his accomplishments."

The CCC had eight other student-athletes receive honors. Gordon led the way with four (Caleb Cole, Andrew Vandervoort, Trevor Hinshaw, Kellen Kasiguran) while Western New England had three (Kevin Parma, Domenik Villano, Jake Bartnik) and Roger Williams had one (Trevor Hoxsie).

Nichols finished the 2013 campaign 12-2-5 (6-1-2 CCC) and was eliminated in double-overtime at Western New England in the conference semifinals.
