Perron named assistant coach for Colby men's soccer

More news about: Colby men's team
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Adam Perron, with coaching experience at Division I and III schools, was named assistant coach for the Colby College men's soccer team Friday.
Perron most recently was the head soccer coach at Bridgton Academy. He will work under Colby first-year head coach Ewan Seabrook this fall.
"I am delighted to welcome Adam to Mayflower Hill," Seabrook said. "We are very fortunate to have added a coach of Adam's caliber and he will provide invaluable leadership, coaching, and mentorship to our student-athletes. We are both excited to get to work and prepare for the fall season."
Perron will bring plenty of coaching experience to Colby. He was an assistant coach and goalkeeping coach at the University of Massachusetts from August 2011 to July 2012.
Perron left for Bridgton Academy to lead a program as head coach for the 2012 season. The 2012 team had just 13 players and finished the season at 10-5-1 while allowing just seven goals. Guiding a one-year college prep program, Perron had to recruit 16 to 20 players to play soccer and also helped his outgoing players find college programs.
Before his time at UMass, Perron was the top assistant coach at Utica College from 2009 to 2011. He served as interim head coach for Utica during the spring season of 2011. Perron also was in charge of the goalkeepers for the Pioneers.
While at Utica, Perron was the starting goalie and goalkeeper coach for the Albany Highlanders of the USL Premier Development League in the spring and summer of 2010. He was team captain and helped train Division I goalkeepers.
Perron started his coaching career as an assistant/goalkeeper coach at Wilbraham and Monson Academy from August 2006 to November 2008.
A 2006 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College, Perron was a four-year starter in goal from 2002 to 2005. He was a team captain his senior season and earned All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors during his career. Perron earned his master's degree in 2012 from Utica.
