Scots Blanket Pipers, 2-0
The HU men's soccer team could not penetrate a sea of blue and red in a 2-0 loss to Macalester in the conference opener for both teams Wednesday at Paterson Field.
The Pipers held were held to five shots total, two of which were on goal. At the other end of the field, Dean Isaacson recorded seven saves for Hamline, which now stands 3-2-1 overall.
After a scoreless first half, the Scots netted a pair by Colton Smith and Floyd Krom just 2:27 apart in the first five minutes of the second session and kept the Pipers at length the rest of the way. HU got shots from Nathan Kange, Jack Reddan, Adam King, Stefan Kinsinger and Lay Wah. Colton Wenig earned the shutout for the Scots, who stand 2-2-1 overall.
The Pipers head on the road for four of their next five games. First up: Carleton on Saturday, September 15 in Northfield. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
