NYU Rallies To Down Baruch (3-2)
The Baruch College Brearcats suffered a 3-2 loss to the Violets of New York University on Wednesday night at Gaelic Park on the campus of Manhattan College in Riverdale. New York.
The visiting Bearcats started strong early and led 2-0 after 25 minutes.
Natari Mohammed scored the first by knocking in a rebound off a save on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute. The Bearcats quickly scored again three minutes later on a goal by Javier Arellano Crespo, the current CUNYAC Player of the Week, who managed to get enough space in the box to kick a quick shot past the goalkeeper.
The Violets scored a goal right before the end of the first half with Maxi Rodriguez one-timing a cross for a 2-1 scoreline.
The Violets would out-shoot the Bearcats 10-2 in the second half and goals by Sergio Monton ('57) and Matteo Russo ('76) completed the home comeback.
Crespo finished with four shots in the tough road loss.
