Hope men's soccer scores eight goals in MIAA win
Logan Bylsma and the Hope College men's soccer team started fast and rolled to an 8-1 victory against visiting Olivet College on Tuesday.
Bylsma registered the third three-goal game by a Hope player at Van Andel Soccer Stadium as the Flying Dutchmen improved to 11-1 overall and 2-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.
The junior forward from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) matched Shaun Groetsma (2010) and Jason Muller (2011) just 24 minutes, 20 seconds into the match.
Bylsma, pictured, scored three of Hope's first four goals. The Flying Dutchmen charged to a 5-1 halftime lead.
Bylsma now has a team-leading nine goals on the season.
The Flying Dutchmen came within one goal of the school record for most goals scored in a match at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
