Late Vassar PK Goal Downs Baruch 2-1
The Baruch College Bearcats suffered a tough 2-1 road loss to the Brewers of Vassar College on Wednesday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, New York.
A penalty kick goal in the 89th minute by Eamon Geraghty broke a tie to hand the home team from the Liberty League the non-conference win.
The visiting Bearcats started strong with a Shaiem Allah Morad high arc shot over the goalkeeper in the 16th minute to open the scoring.
The match remained 1-0 in favor of the Bearcats until the 77th minute when Geraghty scored the first of his two goals off a deflection.
Vassar out-shot the Bearcats 17-4, but the defense and GK Kellen Sela (three saves) kept them off the scoreboard until the late penalty kick winner.
