The Lead: For a program record sixth time this season, the MIT men's soccer team played to a double overtime draw as tonight the Engineers tied Worcester State University, 1-1, after 110 minutes of action in Cambridge.

MIT came into today's match ranked 12th in the first NCAA Division III New England Men's Soccer Regional Rankings.

SCORING SUMMARY:

- 80th minute (79:54) - The game was scoreless until Worcester State's Ethan Melia lifted a shot from 20 yards out into the back left corner of the net to give the visitors a late 1-0 advantage.

- 82nd minute (81:23) - Just 1:29 later, the Engineers tied the game as first-year Will Seiple (Boulder, Colo.) headed home his fourth goal of the season off a great cross from sophomore Noah Faro (Rexford, N.Y.).

- Overtime - Neither team could find the back of the net in the 20 minutes of extra time. MIT outshot Worcester State by an 8-0 margin in the two overtime periods, but Lancers keeper Henri Guilmette notched a pair of saves pushing the match to a draw.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- MIT keeper Jeremy Cowham (Quincy, Mass.) moved to 7-2-6 with a pair of saves, while Guilmette pushed his record to 6-8-1 with seven stops for the visiting Lancers. 

- MIT outshot Worcester State by a 22-9 margin, while both squads took just one corner kick overe 110-minutes of play.

- This was the first time in the all-time series between MIT and Worcester State that a match has ended in a draw. Until tonight, the Engineers held a 4-0 advantage in matchups between the two teams.

- With its sixth draw of the season tonight, MIT set a new program record for most in a single year. The previous record was five, which was set by the 2017 team.
