CRESSON, Pa.--The Hood College women's soccer team (3-5) scored a pair of goals in each half in a 4-0 shutout over nonconference rival Mt. Aloysius College (1-6) Monday afternoon.

The Blazers blanked the Mounties for the third time in as many years and in doing so ended their five-game skid on the season.

Sophomore Stevey Markovich drew first blood for the Blazers just 9:27 into the contest. The tally was her second of the season. Then in the 23rd minute, senior Cara Jordan took a feed from sophomore Amanda Hutzell and pocketed her team-leading fifth goal of the year, giving Hood a 2-0 advantage at halftime. The assist was Hutzell's second of the season.

Jordan then added two more unassisted scores in the second half to bring her career total to 35.

Senior Rachelle Buhrman and junior Kirsten Cacciola each played a flawless half in the net. Buhrman made the start and was not tested in her 45 minutes of work, while Cacciola came in to patrol the net in the second half and denied all three attempts she faced.

Hood outshot the Mounties, 16-6, on the afternoon and owned an 8-0 edge on corner kicks.

The Blazers continue their six-match road swing Thursday at York College (Pa.) (1-5-1, 1-1 CAC). The Capital Athletic Conference matchup is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m.
