FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team (4-12) fell to the visiting Richard Stockton College Ospreys (9-6-2) by a count of 4-0 Thursday afternoon in nonconference action.

The Ospreys outshot the Blazers 26-3 as three different players scored for the guests. Sophomore midfielder Bridgette Connelly registered her first goal of the season in the 17th minute on a free kick that she sent top shelf and beyond the reach of Hood keeper Kirsten Cacciola.

Stockton then tacked on three more scores in the second half. Senior forward Samantha Bean sent a through ball ahead to classmate and leading scorer Leah Pocoroba who made a move on Cacciola and tapped the ball into an open net in the 66th minute. Then in the 79th minute, the Ospreys benefitted from a Blazer own goal to go up 3-0. Sophomore midfielder Dailey Todd capped the scoring with her fourth goal of the fall in the 87th minute.

Cacciola made the start and tallied a career-high nine saves for Hood. Senior Cara Jordan attempted all three Blazer shots on target but they were all scooped up by freshman netminder Sarah Hinkle.

The Blazers next entertain Lancaster Bible College Saturday at 3 p.m. Hood will recognize the five seniors on the women's soccer team, Jordan, Rachelle Buhrman, Abby Dyjack, Alexa Hubicki and Katherine Rendon, before the contest.
