Western New England College senior Shannon Pescatello makes All-NEWISA Team
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Western New England College senior Shannon Pescatello (Wethersfield, CT) added another award to her collection when she was named to the 2010 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISDA) Division III All-New England Second Team.
Last week Pescatello was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Performance Subaru All-New England Second Team.
A midfielder and team captain, Pescatello led the Golden Bears in scoring with 24 points (11 goals, 2 assists) with a team high five game-winning shots. She received the WNEC Most Valuable Player Award at the school's Fall Sports Banquet on Sunday (Dec. 12).
Western New England College posted a 13-9 record this season and placed third in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with a 10-3 mark. WNEC also advanced to the semifinals of the conference championship and participated in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship.
