Top-Ranked Falcons Top Devil Women to Remain Unbeaten
(Carlisle, Pa.) - The top-ranked women's soccer team in the nation, Messiah College, scored three goals in each half to improve to 7-0 with a win at Dickinson on Wednesday.
Senior Amanda Naeher led the way with three goals and one assist on the night. Naeher finished a pass from Jessica Shirk for the game-winner in the 17th minute. She struck again in the 29th minute to put Messiah on top 2-0.
Sophomore Corrine Wulf scored the first goal of the second half and assisted on the Falcons' final two tallies while Alicia Frey added a goal and an assist.
Genevieve Olson (Quincy, Mass./Thayer Academy) broke through and put two strong shots on goal, but Autumn Reilly made a pair of great saves, finishing with seven stops for Messiah.
Sophomore Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) made seven saves in the Devil nets.
The Red Devils (3-2-1) travel to Ursinus College on Saturday to face the Bears at 1:00 pm.
