Friday "13" Proves Lucky for Devils in Overtime Win
(Collegeville, Pa.) - For the second straight year, the Dickinson College women's soccer team posted an overtime win over Ursinus College.
The Red Devils rallied from a 1-0 deficit, tying the game just 2:21 into the second half on a goal by senior Ashley Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) with an assist from her sister, sophomore Marissa Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge).
The Devils tallied the game-winner with 3:11 remaining in the first overtime. Junior Genevieve Olson (Quincy Mass./Thayer Academy) assisted first-year Samantha Friday (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) on the goal as Dickinson improves to 4-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference.
The Bears put a goal on the board in the 17th minute of the contest as Jess Porcelin finished an assist from Brittany Williams to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Sophomore Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) made three saves in goal for the Devils as they held an 11-5 advantage in shots, including the only shot in overtime.
Kara DiJoseph made seven saves for Ursinus as they fall to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
The Red Devils return home to host #7-ranked Johns Hopkins at 5:00 pm.
