Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Tie in Season Opener
(Reading, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Penn State Altoona in the opening round of the Third Annual Crusader Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils held Altoona to just three shots on the afternoon as sophomore Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) earned the shutout with just one save in goal.
Dickinson tallied 10 shots on the day, putting three on net, including two from sophomore Marissa Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge). Senior sister Ashley Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) also played strong in the midfield, recording a pair of shots.
The Red Devils will face Gwynedd-Mercy on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm.
