ARKLAND, Wash. - Cal Lutheran women's soccer season debut was impressive and successful securing a 3-0 victory over Pacific Lutheran on Sunday. Lindsay Armenta had a memorable Regals debut netting the game-winning goal 66 seconds into the second half.

Box Score: CLU 3, PLU 0 - F

Cal Lutheran dominated possession in the opening 45 minutes earning eight corner kicks. The Regals took six shots forcing three saves from Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Lauren Chambard.

The Lutes net minder preserved a scoreless tie into halftime while her counterpart Tina Hedwall watched the lone PLU shot attempt sail wide of its target. Freshman net minder Renee Standage did not face a shot during her first 45 minutes of collegiate action.

The Regals broke through after Armenta put away the corner kick service from Jess Armstrong. It was the first back-to-back shot attempts that found the Lutes net.

Kirsten DiPippo set up the second score finished off by Kristina Hulse just over four minutes after taking the lead. She leads all returning players after netting 10 goals during her freshman campaign, and the Regals are undefeated (9-0-0) when she scores.

PLU's Chambard made nine second half saves and 12 in all, but the 22nd and final Regals shot put the game out of reach for good.

Leading all players in shots taken Kristin Cameron added a late insurance goal with her sixth and final attempt in the 84th minute.

Cal Lutheran (1-0-0) will take on nationally ranked No. 24 Puget Sound on Monday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. in the season debut for the Loggers.
