EUREKA, Ill. – Knox scored four of its six goals during a an eight-minute burst early in the first half, building an early lead on its way to a 6-0 non-conference victory over the Eureka College women's soccer team, Wednesday afternoon at Traister Field.

Ella Peterson scored her first of three goals just four minutes into the match on an assist from Alex Rauland.  Peterson netted another tally in the 15th minute, the first of four strikes for the Prairie Fire (2-1-0) in a span of 8-minutes, 1-second, to seize control of the match.  Rachael Koene (16th minute) and Arielle Dorman (23rd minute) added first-half goals for the visitors.

The Red Devils (0-2-0) battled back, getting a shot on frame from junior forward Katie McLaughlin (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) near the goal line in the 51st minute, but Knox goalkeeper Emily Turner scooped up the bouncing ball and the Red Devils wouldn't threaten with a shot on goal again.

Junior goalkeeper Sami Williamson (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central H.S.) made her second consecutive start in goal and made 11 saves, her best effort since turning aside 15 shots on goal at Greenville on Sept. 26, 2009.

Eureka will return to action this Saturday, visiting Rockford for a 1 p.m. non-conference kickoff against the Regents.
