Mount Union Keeps Unbeaten and Shutout Streaks Alive in Tie at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.—The Mount Union women's soccer team played Westminster (Pa.) to a scoreless 0-0 tie in double overtime Wednesday night. The Purple Raiders (3-0-1) are unbeaten through four games for the first time since 2002 and have yet to allow a goal this season.

The Purple Raiders were outshot for the first time this season, 11-7.

Senior Taryn Vespoint (Ravenna/Ravenna) made nine saves in the shutout. Jenn Cantella had seven saves in net for Westminster.

Mount Union returns to action this weekend when they participate in the Clarion Classic in Fredonia, N.Y. The Purple Raiders will play Penn State-Behrend (Pa.) on Friday and face Rochester (N.Y.) on Saturday.
