Leah Levey Notches Score, Adds Assist as Spartans Blank Otterbein, 2-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore forward Leah Levey (Columbus, Ohio/Bexley) recorded her first goal of the season and assisted on the other Spartan goal leading the Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team past Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Otterbein University, 2-0, on Saturday, September 17 at Case Field.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 4-1-1 overall and have four shutouts in six contests this fall. Case returns to action this Tuesday, September 20, on the road at cross-town rival Baldwin-Wallace College at 7:30 p.m. in Berea. With its loss, Otterbein falls to 2-4.

Junior Devyn Lee (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College) broke the scoreless tie with her first goal of the season and third of her career via an assist from Levey's first assist of the year in the 64th minute. Levey added an insurance score for Case in the 87th minute following a nifty give-and-go with junior midfielder Kendra Simmons (Medina, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit).

In goal, senior captain Anna Kennedy (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) recorded six saves to post her fourth shutout of the season and 14th of her career to improve to 4-1-1 overall. Otterbein's Sarah Uhlenbrock made four stops in the loss.

For the game, Case outshot the Cardinals, 16-7, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 2-0.
