Big Blue Women Edge North Central
The Millikin women's soccer team defeated North Central College 3-2 on Oct. 1 at the Millikin Soccer Field. The Big Blue improved to 6-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the CCIW. North Central is now 5-4, 0-1.
Millikin opened the scoring at the 12:52 mark on a Sarah Christy goal from Emily Leskowicz and Nikki Smith.
Millikin would add to its lead later in the half when Jessica Hofert scored on a header off a Smith corner kick.
Trailing 2-0 in the 64th minute, North Central scored on Dominique Collins goal.
Millikin then made it 3-1 when Chelsea Jones scored on a free kick in the 72nd minute.
Michelle Lazowski kept the Cardinals in the game with a goal at 84:57.
Millikin is back in action on Oct. 8 at Augustana College at 2:30 p.m.
