Maisano Scores as RIC Still Searches for First League Win

In the 16th minute of play, UMD junior midfielder Vanessa Demelo (Fall River, MA) scored an unassisted goal, giving the Corsairs a 1-0 advantage. Sophomore forward Erica Jonasson (Wrentham, MA) added to the Corsairs' lead when she netted her first goal of the game, off a pass by freshman midfielder Danielle Gauvin (Fall River, MA), making it 2-0 with just over 15 minutes to play in the first half. |

Maisano put the visitors on the board by converting a pass from sophomore midfielder Johnna Magiera (Coventry, RI). UMD put the Anchorwomen away with Jonasson's second goal of the game in the 85th minute of play, securing the 3-1 victory for the Corsairs. |

The Corsairs outshot the Anchorwomen, 28-5. Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Borges (Somerset, MA) made four saves for UMD, while sophomore Abygayle Fisher (Exeter, NH) stopped a season-high 15 shots for Rhode Island College. |

UMass Dartmouth improved to 7-4 and 2-1 in the Little East Conference with the victory, while Rhode island College dropped to 2-8 and 0-3 in LEC action with the defeat. |
