LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – After scoring just two goals in its last three games, the Norwich women's soccer team finally got its offense rolling again in a 3-0 win over Lyndon State on Thursday in non-conference action.

Junior forward Brittany Casey broke her three-game scoreless draught by giving the Cadets a 1-0 lead just nine minutes into the game with a strike that beat Lyndon State goalkeeper Tia Billado to the upper right corner of the net. Senior defender Kacey Abbriano picked up an assist on the play.

Norwich (9-2-2, 6-2-2 GNAC) extended its lead to 2-0 when sophomore midfielder Baylie Lamarre scored her seventh goal of the season off a free kick from 40 yards out that beat Billado over her head.

Junior forward Courtney Parisot capped the scoring with her fifth tally of the season from the right wing in the 50th minute off an assist from Casey.

Senior goalkeeper Megan Kennedy started the match in net for the Cadets and made one save before having to come out with an injury. Kennedy still recorded the win, but sophomore Allison Hull came on for her first collegiate minutes to finish off the match. Hull recorded three saves to preserve the shutout for NU.

Norwich outshot Lyndon State 26-10 and had four corner kicks to the Hornets' two. Lyndon State fell to 7-5-2 on the season with the loss.

"Today was a really good win for us to have going into our last two conference games," NU head coach Beth Van Parys said. "We haven't been scoring a lot lately, but to score three goals today is huge for us to build off going forward."

Norwich finishes off its three-match week on Saturday when the Cadets travel to Suffolk to take on the Rams at 2 p.m.
