Nichols Tops Albertus Magnus 2-0 On Senior Day
DUDLEY, Mass. (Oct. 25) – Nichols graduate student Kaitlyn DiBuono (Auburn, Mass.) scored a goal in her final home match as Nichols defeated Albertus Magnus in a non-conference women's soccer contest played on a windy Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Bison improve to 6-8-2 overall while the Falcons dip to 11-6.
In the first half, play was just about even while the Falcons held slim margins in shots (5-4) and corner kicks (2-1) as each keeper would be tested twice. Nichols' senior Laurel Houle (Brooklyn, Conn.) and sophomore Shelby Aminti (Pepperell, Mass.) each took aim at sophomore keeper Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) while Albertus Magnus' junior Kelly Marchitto (West Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Brittany Ross (Ansonia, Conn.) attempted to best junior Maureen Lynch (Holbrook, Mass.).
Lynch made four stops in the win for Nichols as Dineson collected five saves for the Falcons.
Prior to the match Houle, DiTommaso, Cummings as well as Brittany Tremont (Guilford, Conn.), Chelsea Shaughnessy (Halifax, Mass.), Jennifer Reichert (Northbridge, Mass.) and Kate Dyson (Danielson, Conn.) were recognized for their contribution to Nichols Athletics and the women's soccer program as part of Senior Day.
