Lady Lions Advance to AMCC Championship, Surging Past Medaille 6-0

ALTOONA, Pa. - For the second time in as many seasons, the Penn State Altoona women's soccer team will host the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Game against rival Penn State Behrend.

The Lady Lions, the top seed in the tournament, cruised past #5 seed Medaille College 6-0 on Wednesday night at Spring Run Stadium in the conference semifinals.

The team will host #3 seed Penn State Behrend this Saturday at 3:30 PM, setting up a rematch of last season's title game which Penn State Altoona won 3-0.

The Lady Lions got off to a fast start against Medaille when Nikki Supsic (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy) scored 1:21 into the first period.

Allysia Ketchem (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) followed with back-to-back goals at 26:54 and 32:04 to give the home team a 3-0 advantage.

Penn State Altoona doubled its lead in the span of 3:07 late in the second half when Erin Chafardon (McConnellsburg, PA/McConnellsburg), Meredith Waters (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock Township), and Supsic each tallied goals.
