Ithaca moves on past Trinity
Rodabaugh's third goal of the year sends the Bombers to the NCAA
quarterfinals for the fourth time in five years. Ithaca has made
five trips to the NCAA semifinals with their last "final four" trip
coming in 1998.
Sophomore Ellyn Grant-Keane sent a centering pass toward the near
post that Trinity goalkeeper Devan Osegueda got a hand on; the ball
wound up at Rodabaugh's feet and her shot was initially stopped
before dribbling behind the keeper and over the goal line. The
Tigers had allowed just seven goals all season.
Trinity outshot the Bombers 25-18, owning a 10-7 edge at the half
and then putting four shots on goal during an early second-half
flurry. Junior Becca Salant made nine saves.
Osegueda stopped eight shots for Trinity.
Ithaca will face either Cortland or Concordia-Moorhead Sunday at 1
p.m. with a trip to the "final four" in San Antonio at stake.
