Women's Soccer Game Suspended in 61st Minute
(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's soccer game against St. Mary's College on Wednesday was suspended in the 61st minute due to lightening delays. The Red Devils held a 1-0 lead at the time, but the game with likely be played from the start if a make-up date is scheduled. Otherwise the game will be recorded as a no-contest.
Sophomore Samantha Friday (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) finished a scramble on a corner kick after a beautifully served ball from Cate Maugle (Glenmoore, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) led to a shot and rebound by Julie Thayer (Washington, D.C./Maret School). Friday collected the loose ball and put away a rebound of her own to put the Devils on the board.
The game was suspended with 29:15 remaining in the second half.
The Red Devils are scheduled to open Centennial Conference play on Saturday afternoon, hosting Haverford College at 1:00 pm.
