More news about: UW-Whitewater women's team
Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association Division III Third Team All-America Team for the 2011 season.  Gerber is the first soccer player, women's or men's, to earn All-America honors for UW-Whitewater.

Prior to her national honor, Gerber was named First Team North Region Division III.  In November she earned First Team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognition for the third consecutive year, as well as the league's Most Valuable Offensive Player Award in 2011.  Gerber was the league's MVP in 2009 and 2010, and the award was split into offensive and defensive categories in 2011.

Gerber led UW-Whitewater to back-to-back Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships in 2010 and 2011.  The Warhawks also tied for the WIAC postseason tournament title in 2011.  The 2011 team earned a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship playoff berth, advancing to the sweet sixteen of the national tournament.

Gerber was credited with 13 goals, 12 assists and 38 points this fall, leading the team in all three categories.  She also etched her name throughout the school record book.

UW-Whitewater wrapped up 2011 with a 14-5-3 record.  The fourteen victories is the most in school history (previously 13 in 2000), and the .705 winning percentage is also the best ever (also in 2000 when it was .700).
