Mariners Fall in Season Operner; Koensgen Cashes In
BANGOR, Maine – Tayler Mazurski scored a goal and assisted on two others to lead Western New England to a 4-1 win over Maine Maritime on the first day of the Eighth Annual Husson Classic.
Mazurski scored the opening goal and assisted on the third and fourth tallies in the opening 4-0 salvo. Maine Maritime's Annie Koensgen (Placitas, N.M./Bosque School) collected a Sarah Brochu (Hardwick, Vt./Hazen Union) cross and sent it home to get the Mariners on the board. Konesgen's goal was one of two shots on target in the game. Maine Maritime Sophomore goalie Kelsie Hilton (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) faced 10 shots on goal saving 6.
Maine Maritime will face Vassar tomorrow at Husson.
