SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – Norwich University's Alex Frank (So., Medford, N.J.) tallied less than eight minutes into the contest and Sara Goes (Fr., East Providece, R.I.) scored two second half goals to lead the Cadets to a 3-0 win over Purchase College in the second game of the women's division of the 2012 ECAC Division III Soccer Classic on the Cape.

Frank's goal was the first of the season for Norwich which had lost to Bridgewater State University on Friday by a 2-0 count.  Frank took a centering pass from Courtney Parisot (Sr., Watertown, Conn.) on the right wing and sent the ball to the lower left corner.

Neither team had a true scoring opportunity the remainder of the half as much of the game was played in the middle third of the field.

Goes found net for her first career goal in the 70th minute.  Taking a lead pass from Brittany Casey (Sr., Pointe-Claire, Quebec), she maneuvered around charging Panther goal keeper Kristy Colangelo (Fr., Staten Island, N.Y.) and shot to the lower center of the cage.

Just over ten minutes later, Goes was the beneficiary of some bad luck for Colangelo.  The Panther netminder attempted a kick to clear the ball, but the try ricocheted off a Panther defender directly to Goes who slammed the ball into the empty net.

Norwich out shot Purchase 16-9 in the game, and had a 4-1 lead in corner kicks.  Colangelo and Kristen Rancaniello (Jr., Riverhead, N.Y.) combined for seven saves for the Panthers, while Allison Hull (Jr., South Royalton, Vt.) pitched the four-save shutout.

Norwich finishes the Classic with a 1-1 record.  The Panthers are 0-1-0 on the season and will play Bridgewater State University at 3:00 Sunday, at Peter Homer Memorial Park.
