Wheaton women's soccer rallies for a 2-1 overtime win against Principia

Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder women's soccer team was a 2-1 victor in two overtimes against Principia College on Saturday night at Wheaton's Bob Baptista Invitational. Wheaton is now 2-0 on the year, while Principia falls to 1-1. The Thunder will travel to Calvin College on Tuesday for a 4 PM (ET) match against the Knights.

For the second consecutive match Wheaton's opponent struck first, as Principia's Rachel Publicover scored at the 9:19 mark off an assist by Kristen Crandall. Publicover put the ball into the far post, on a shot from about 15 yards out.

The Thunder tied the match at 1-1 in the 76th minute when sophomore #Anna Seabolt# headed in a cross from senior #Val Lelle# to level the score. Wheaton was unable to complete its rally in regulation need a pair of overtime periods to earn the win.
