MARSHALL, Texas - The Millsaps Majors Women's Soccer Team kicked off the 2012 seaosn by traveling to Marshall, Texas to take on the East Texas Baptist Tigers. ETBU used a big second half to run away from the Majors as they fell 4-1 on Friday evening.

The Tigers (1-0) got on the board in the 11th minute to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Millsaps (0-1) tried to answer back in the 21st minute as sophomore Taylor Winslow ripped a shot towards goal, but ETBU's Tamara Carlisle came up with the save. Winslow got another shot off later in the half, but this time missed wide as East Texas Baptist held a 1-0 lead at half.

The Majors continued to fight though and found the back of the net in the 86th minute when junior Grace Gremillion notched her first goal of the season off an assist from senior Margaret Eggers to make it a 4-1 game.

In goal, freshman Elise Davis got her first start of the season and picked up three saves on the evening despite taking the loss.
