WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas (2-3) topped Unity College (2-1) in a non-conference women's soccer contest at the turf field at Thomas College Thursday evening. Jenn Day (Gardiner, Maine) had two goals and an assist in the Thomas victory.

Kajsa Kaufeldt (Uppsala, Sweden) opened the game scoring off a cross from Day in the box and buried it past Rams keeper Paige Blaker in the first minute of play.

Day would increase the lead for the Terriers with goals at the fifth minute and 38th minute, the first off a free kick from 30 yards out. Day's second goal was from around the same spot as the first that found the top left corner, over the hands of Blaker.

Unity would answer seven minutes into the second half, as Ashley Moeller dribbled through the box and put it past Lindsay Hoopingarner (Richmond, Maine), who replaced Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) in net for the Terriers.

Unity would not be able to catch Thomas, and were outshot 23-5 in the contest. Blaker had 11 saves in the loss for the Broncos.

Thomas will begin conference play Saturday as they travel to Bangor to face Husson at 1pm. The Terriers defeated Husson 1-0 last fall in Waterville.
