More news about: Johns Hopkins women's team

OWINGS MILLS, MD - Allie Baker scored her first career goal to lead the #3 Johns Hopkins women's soccer team past Stevenson, 3-1, Wednesday night in Owings Mills, MD.

Hopkins (4-1-1) was strong on both sides of the ball in the first half, scoring two goals on the offensive end, while holding Stevenson to zero shots.

Hannah Kronick scored first for the Blue Jays in the 27th minute, beating goalkeeper Allison Johnson with a short-range shot. Johnson was forced to leave the game after being injured on the play.

The sophomore Baker then doubled the Hopkins lead 11 minutes later after backup goalkeeper Rebecca Moore mishandled a Blue Jays cross. Baker pounced on the mistake to make the score 2-0.

The Blue Jays continued to press in the second half and were the beneficiaries of a fantastic individual effort in the 63rd minute by Christina Convey. The speedy junior got behind the Mustang backline and caught Moore off her line with a shot from 22 yards out to give Hopkins a 3-0 lead.

The Mustangs added a goal of their own in the match's waning moments when Molly Malloy slotted home a looping cross from teammate Meaghan Williams.

Hopkins opens Centennial Conference play Saturday at Homewood Field against Washington College. The Blue Jays are 11-0 all-time versus Washington.
