More news about: Centre women's team

The Centre women's soccer team completed a stretch of six straight road games and stayed unbeaten on the year with a 1-0 win at College of Mount St. Joseph on Sunday in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Despite Centre taking 15 shots to Mount St. Joseph's one, it wasn't until the 61st minute when the Colonels broke through with what would go on to be the winning goal. It was Katie Stevenson (Flat Rock, N.C.) who scored the game winner for Centre on an assist from Maddie Slattery (Cincinnati, Ohio), making it Stevenson's third straight game with a goal and Slattery's third straight game with an assist.

Shelbi Benzinger made six saves for Mount St. Joseph while Megan Foley (Louisville, Ky.) and Holly Hilton (New Palestine, Ind.) split time in goal for Centre with Hilton making the only save.

The game was the third straight shutout and fifth of the year for Centre, which moves to 8-0 on the season. Mount St. Joseph falls to 0-8 with the loss. The Colonels will play their first home game in more than three weeks when they take on Spalding on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
