Brooklyn's Abrahams Named CUNYAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Flushing, NY --- Brooklyn College sophomore Shani Abrahams has been named the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/Applebee's Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, for the week ending September 23rd.
Coming in BC's lone game of the week, Abrahams was instrumental in leading the Bulldogs to the first-year program's first ever victory, a 2-0 shutout over conference rival York College on September 20th.
Abrahams, a tri-captain, assisted on the team's first ever goal as she set up teammate Eka Beriashvili with a cross in the box in the 59th minute. Later on in the game, Abrahams would notch her first career goal taking advantage of a rebound opportunity in the 64th minute.
Brooklyn will be back in action tonight, Monday, September 24th, as the Bulldogs will be on the road to take on borough rival Polytechnic Institute of New York University. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time at Aviator Sports Complex.
