Hope Overwhelms Albion With Numbers

More news about: Albion women's team

ALBION – Lindsey Lubanski scored an early goal for Albion College, but Hope College countered with its depth to record an 8-1 victory in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer action at Alumni Field.

Despite having two players come off the bench, Albion's student-athletes provided a great effort for all 90 minutes.

Lubanski sent a blast from 40 yards out past the Hope goalkeeper 1:37 into the contest.

Albion goalkeeper Victoria Della Pia stopped the first two shots she faced and two offside calls frustrated the Hope offense for the first 12 minutes. The Flying Dutch built a 6-1 halftime lead as Lindsey Bieri scored three times and Raisa Yewah, Maddie Estrada, and Jillian Nichols added tallies.

Kristin Hazlett and Amanda Krause tacked on scores for Hope in the second half.

Albion travels to Alma Wednesday for its next league contest.
