Kelly's Goal Lifts Greensboro Women's Soccer Past LaGrange 1-0

More news about: Greensboro women's team

Meredith Kelly netted the lone goal of the game to lead The Pride women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at LaGrange on Sunday.  The win snapped a two game skid and helped Greensboro rebound from a 2-1 defeat at Piedmont on Saturday.

Kelly's goal came in the 57th minute of the game, as she rebounded her own shot and knocked it past the keeper.

The Pride controlled the momentum for much of the game, holding a 12-5 advantage in total shots.  Three of the 12 shots for Greensboro came on goal while the defense limited the Panthers to only one opportunity on goal.

Tiffany Walters and Melanie Raton paced The Pride offense with three shots for the game while also contributing one shot on goal.  Jessica Thatcher earned the victory in net.

With the win, Greensboro moves to 4-6 on the season and 3-2 in the USA South.  The Pride will next be in action on October 6 at Mary Baldwin.  Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
