BOXERS LOOK TO GET BACK ON WINNING TRACK
On Saturday, the Pacific women's soccer team recorded their third loss of the season against Lewis & Clark. The Boxers were not able to find the back of the net, but had opportunities to score. Lewis & Clark scored a goal in each half to shuout the Boxers 2-0. The Boxers are currently tied for fifth place with Willamette with a 2-3-1 NWC record. Pacific will look to this weekend to get back on the winning track against Willamette on Saturday and Puget Sound on Sunday.

BOXER BYTES
Kaitlyn Harper, Dani McMurray and Kamryn Plechot each have scored two goals apiece for the 2012 season. Three of the six goals have been game-winning goals.

Brittany Hartmann ranks in the top ten of the Northwest Conference in three statistical categories.

• The Boxers rank in the top five of the Northwest Conference in five different statistical categories.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
WILLAMETTE
Willamette finished 3rd in the Northwest Conference in 2011 with a 10-5-1 record, 11-8-1 overall. Hillary Arthur is in her fourth season as head coach for the Bearcats. Willamette is currently tied for 5th with Pacific with a 2-3-1 record, 4-5-1 overall. On Saturday, the Bearcats held a 0-0 draw with Linfield. On Sunday, the Bearcats claimed a 1-0 victory over George Fox. Willamette returns two 2011 All-NWC selections. Ashland Bernard, a 2011 Honorable Mention selection, currently leads the Bearcats with five goals scored. Andrea Rowen returns after being selected to the second team in 2011 and goalkeeper Nicole Price returns for her junior season. Price has tallied 31 saves this seaons with a 2-4-1 record.

PUGET SOUND
Puget Sound claimed the Northwest Conference championship in 2011 with a 12-2-2 record, 14-3-3 overall. Randy Hanson is in his 17th season as head coach for the Loggers. Puget Sound is currently second in the NWC behind Whitworth with a 4-1-1 record, 5-3-1 overall. On Saturday, the Loggers claimed a 2-0 victory over Whitman. On Sunday, they took their first loss in Northwest Conference play to Whitworth 1-0. Sophomore Robin Vielra and freshman Amalia Acorda-Fey are leading the Loggers with four goals a piece. Vielra was a Second Team All-NWC selection in 2011. Junior Kara Merfeld returns between the posts, collecting 14 saves in the 2012 campaign. In 2011, Merfeld was a First Team All-NWC selection.

PACIFIC NEWS & NOTES
PRODUCING OFFENSE:
Kaitlyn Harper (Sr., Oregon City, Ore.), Dani McMurray (Fr., Gresham, Ore.) and Kamryn Plechot (So., La Palma, Calif) are leading the Boxers with two goals apiece. Also, all three have one game-winning goal. Harper scored her first goal on Aug. 31 to help the Boxers record their first draw of the season against Redlands. Her second came on Sept. 12, scoring the game-winner against George Fox. McMurray has shown she can find the back of the net as a freshman. She scored on Sept. 9 in 2-0 shutout against Oregon Tech. Her second goal of the season came on Sept. 22 against Whitman, scoring the game-winner of the match. Plechot has also been a great addition to the team with her offensive presence and taking control of matches. Plechot's first goal in a Boxer uniform was on Sept. 9, scoring the game-winner against Oregon Tech. Her second goal came three days later on Sept. 12, scoring an insurance goal to help the Boxers claim a 3-1 victory over George Fox.

HARTMANN IN THE NWC: Brittany Hartmann (Sr., Portland, Ore.) still ranks in the top-10 of the Northwest Conference in three different statistical categories. She ranks third in saves (48), sixth in saving percentage (.828) and sixth in goals against average (1.03). Over the weekend, Hartmann collected seven saves in 2-0 loss to Lewis & Clark. Hartmann owns three out of the four shutouts the Boxers have this season. She was selected as Northwest Conference Defensive Student Athlete of the Week on Sept. 11 for her shutouts against Northwest Christian on Sept 8. and Oregon Tech on Sept. 9.

RANKING IN THE NWC: After the third week of Northwest Conference play, the Boxers rank in the top-five of the NWC in five different statistical categories. The Boxers rank fifth in goals (11), second in assists (9), third in goals against average (0.94), third in saves (56) and third in corner kicks (45). The Boxers rank sixth in shots (99) and sixth in goals allowed (10). Over the weekend, the Boxers were shutout by Lewis & Clark putting them tied for fifth with Willamette. Hartmann ranks in the top-10 in three different categories. Plechot ranks in top-5 in assists with three.

PACIFIC PICKED FIFTH IN NWC POLL: Northwest Conference coaches have picked Pacific to place fifth according to the league's preseason poll released in August. The Boxers received 36 of a possible 80 points in the poll, beating out Whitman, Pacific Lutheran, George Fox and Lewis & Clark. Pacific finished fifth in the conference standings in 2011, after a fifth place selection in the preseason poll. Puget Sound was the favorite to win a eleventh straight conference title. The Loggers earned six first place votes and 66 points. Linfield (56 pts. ) came in second place in the poll, scoring three first place votes.
