Medaille Women Blank Mt. Aloysius
BUFFALO, NY--The Lady Mavericks returned home Saturday to host the Mount Aloysius Mounties in an AMCC contest. After honoring the seniors before the game on Senior Day, the Mavericks started off strong and were able to hold off the Mounties by a final score of (2-0).
The Lady Mavs started the scoring 29:35 into the first half with a goal by Lindsey Grana. This goal was set up by great passing from Joey Ruderman and Candis Kapuscinski.
Following Grana's goal, the Mavericks notched another goal right before the half off the leg of Alyssa Unterborn. The goal was unassisted but gave the Mavericks the momentum to carry into the second half.
On defense, goalie Denay O'Connor was solid between the pipes finishing with (4) saves in the game to notch the shut out.
The Lady Mavs improve to (6-7-0) overall (4-1-0) in AMCC play and will continue their homestand Wednesday (10/10) against D'Youville at 6:30 p.m. in another AMCC matchup at All-High Stadium.
