CCNY’s Four First Half Goals Pace Beavers in 4-0 Shutout

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The hot start for the City College of New York women's soccer team (10-2, 4-0 CUNYAC) continued as the Beavers posted four first-half goals against Brooklyn College to blank the Bulldogs, 4-0, in nonconference action on Saturday afternoon at Brooklyn Soccer Field.

Senior Dzindzi Asamoah-Wade posted two goals and added one assist while Paola Ramos scored one assist and added two assists in CCNY's eighth shutout victory of the season. Senior Tabitha Azor scored three two minutes into the contest and goalkeeper Nicole Carroll's posted six saves in her eighth shutout of the season.

The win marked the third consecutive game that the Beavers defense did not allow a goal as the 2012 season continues to be a historic one for the women's soccer team.

A quick start by the Beavers allowed CCNY to take a 1-0 lead two minutes into the game as Azor recorded her fourth goal on the year on a one-touch pass by Ramos.

Thirty minutes later, the Beavers scored three goals in a span of 10 minutes as Ramos scored her own goal, the fourth of her season, as Wade posted her fifth helper of 2012 before Wade scored two consecutive goals on passes from Ramos as the duo leads the Beavers and rank atop CUNYAC members in goals and assists with 14 and 8, respectively.

City College hosts NYU-Poly on Oct. 15 at 7 PM at Randall's Island Field 10 as its four seniors, Wade, Azor, Frances Tapia and Angelica Lopez will be honored during pregame ceremonies.
